Is the procedure in which an American Citizen or a legal permanent resident ask the government to grant an immigrant visa (to live inside of the United States) to a foreign relative.

An American Citizen can request for:

  • Mom
  • Dad
  • Husband or Wife
  • Unmarried Sons/Daughters under 21 years
  • Single Sons/Daughters over 21 years
  • Married Sons/Daughters
  • Brothers

A legal resident can request for:

  • Husband or Wife
  • Unmarried Sons/Daughters under 21 years
  • Single Sons/Daughters over 21 years
¿How is it obtained?

It is obtained by asking the government (USCIS immigration department) for this visa. It is done through the I-130 form with the necessary documents and requirements.

¿What are the requirements?
  • That the petitioner is authorized to make the requests.
  • That the beneficiary is qualified to receive the benefit.
  • Fill out form I-130.
  • Fill out form G-325 in the cases where it is necessary.
  • Present the documents required by the petition with the corresponding translations.
  • $420 dollars.
  • Passport photos are needed.
